Food Distribution Program in Pandemic

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing pandemic of coronavirus ailment 2019 (COVID-19) worldwide. The pandemic has caused excessive worldwide socioeconomic disruption, and the suspending or cancellation of sporting, religious, political, and cultural activities. In Bangladesh, the Government has declared a country of emergency and lockdown in the country to prevent the spreading of the virus. In response to that, NSP has canceled all activities until October 2020.

Considering the needs of low-earnings and unemployed communities, NSP with restricted assets has prepared food and important items distribution (rice, lentils (dal), potatoes, onions, vegetable oil, biscuits, and soap) to the low-earnings households, like day labor, a rickshaw puller in Dhaka and Kishorgonj. 90 households in Dhaka and 110 households in Kishorgonj received the products. A total of 200 households have been reached thru this program each in urban and rural areas. Volunteers have been additionally campaigning on social distancing during the distribution.
